I really love days like today when I get to edit magazine proofs--the day only comes three times per year, and it makes me happy because I know that I'll be busy the entire day. I'm usually pretty tired by the end too. My desk is a mess with the company style guide, brands standards manual, Chicago, and shreds of multiple-copied proofs...I figure I'll clean it all up later. Two emergency projects from mid-afternoon are marked by an array of multi-colored pens all over my desk as well--most of the pens are red, but my fine-tip red Sharpie ran out right in the middle of editing the proofs so I had to take a break until I could find another one. However, the dead pen still contributes to said assortment of writing implements.
Now work is over and it's time to go home and enjoy yet another weekend.
