Discussions about a Module

A discussion among two coworkers over email regarding what a module is.
"Module is a jargonistic and pretentious word used by hacks who value wordiness above readability and clarity."

"Actually it’s a word found more in technical writing and means an independent portion of a larger section. Think of it like a chapter of a book. The idea behind a module is that you can move it around and it won’t interrupt the overall sequence, no matter where it is positioned. Or something like that."

"Yeah right. Everyone knows that a module is what they stepped on in Star Trek to activate the energizer (italicized for emphasis). D’uh!"
