When Technology DOESN'T WORK

I finally found my academic motivation; I put into gear and finished my portion of my usability team's final report. Whew. I was supposed to have it done by tonight; for a few hours I will be ahead of the game!

School has kind of been in limbo for the past few weeks. My classes are run through Blackboard, and on the 16th, the entire system crashed, and it lost everything from three days prior. Apparently some people in other classes lost major test scores. Luckily my classes only lost our discussion forums, which were extra credit that week anyway because my teacher was in a giving mood. I wonder if we'll still get the credit for making a post if there's no longer proof that the post was originally there...

Blackboard came back up a few days later, and then it crashed again and stayed down for the weekend. The Blackboard people don't know why it crashed, and they also don't know why three days weren't backed up. They're apologizing profusely, but I think no amount of apology is going to bring those kids' test scores back...

So since we haven't been able to log into Blackboard for about two weeks, my teacher is amending the syllabi for both his classes, considering for my first class we're supposed to have a proposal for our final paper turned in by Monday (we haven't even discussed the assignment yet), and for my second class we're supposed to post a portfolio assignment by Friday... yeah. Not happening. Hooray for technology!
