More Central Park + Mini Family Photoshoot

I think I already professed my love for Central Park. On Mother's Day my sister packed up a picnic lunch and we went to Central Park after church.

We also had some time to take some cute family photos. Luckily I had a little assistant who was leaping around me to make the kids smile. Even with help, kids can be really hard to photograph!

Beautiful Sheep Meadow
Happy family photos
One happy mommy with two cute darling children
Isn't he just the cutest?

Photoshoot with Lesley: Family Shots at Bethesda Fountain

While in New York City a few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to accompany Lesley to a photoshoot at one of my favorite places in Central Park, Bethesda Fountain. Gorgeous, really, at 7:30 am. And there isn't a soul around, either!

The hardest part was trying to get the attention of the family's little guy, who just did not want to give neither Lesley nor I the time of day. So I guess a lot of their photos are more candid than anything, which, in my opinion, aren't a bad option! Candids capture more personality, anyway, and I usually prefer them over staged photos. (Except for when you get a darling staged photo that is just slightly wrong. Dang.)

Anyway, without further ado. Here are some of my favorites. (Full shoot by Kensington Blue: V Family {Central Park Family Portraits})

Photoshoot (Complete): Hot Hot JJ's Family

So, I've always known Jessica is gorgeous, but put her in a purple cardigan and against the contrast of the yellow aspens... yikes, girl. (Ethan, you are one lucky man!)

For the record, this was my first shoot by myself with a toddler. It's hard! Good thing Jess and Ethan had some of J's favorite toys (they happened to make sounds) because we were able to get some good shots.

There were way too many fun pictures to choose just a few. So, sorry. :)

Photoshoot: Hot Hot JJ's Family

A few weeks ago my friend Jessica asked me a question: would you take family pictures for me? I was completely flattered and of course I said yes. We went up Big Cottonwood Canyon yesterday for some fantastic autumn leaves, gorgeous afternoon sunshine, and unfortunately not-so-many smiles from James...but the shoot was ultimately a success. And I've been just as excited as Jessica is, so I decided to check out some of the photos today and post a quick preview. I hope to have the rest of the photos finished by the end of the week or so.

Photoshoot with Lesley: Maternity Shots in Lehi, UT

Lesley has always been kind enough to ask me to second shoot on some of her photography outings. I am always happy to go because it helps me get some experience with real clients--not that I'll ever do what she does, but I love the practice. And I love second shooting 'cause there's less pressure on me! :)

The complete posting of Lesley's maternity photoshoot is on her kensingtonblue blog, but I've posted some of my favorites that came from my lens.

This shoot was also special for me because at the time I thought it would be the last photoshoot we would ever do together since her husband got a job in NYC. Turns out I was able to be in New York when she got her first client and I got to second shoot at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park with her, which was also very special for me. Thanks for everything you've taught me, Les, and also for giving me confidence in my abilities and encouraging me to keep going.
