Invitation: Warren & Shantelle Wedding

My little brother got married last month, and he and his fiancee asked me to design their wedding invitations. The feel was classy yet laid back, and Shantelle really wanted a lacy feel. So we went with a lace vector background with a few of my favorite fonts. The suite included the invitation, a dinner card, a sealing card, and a registry card (because invitations with registry information directly on them just kill me.)

Invitation: Maggie's 1st Birthday Party

My niece Maggie turned 1 last week. Since my entire family was in town for my brother's wedding, I decided it would be fun to throw a birthday party. And when my family throws parties, we go all out. (Just check out Lesley's blog for plenty of examples of parties.) I did not design the pinwheels (I bought them from VectorStock) but I did modify all the colors.

Happy 2013!

Wedding Thank Yous

For my cousin's wedding a few weeks ago I was asked to help create a thank you note for the dinner, as well as a thank you poster for the reception. I really had the easy end of the deal because the initial concept came from the couple's invitation (designed by Jason Stucki). But still, designing text with force justification isn't as easy as it looks.

Central Park Easter Egg Hunt Invitation

My sister Lesley is fantastic at planning glorious events, and this one happened to be an Easter egg hunt in Central Park for 100 people. Yes, she had to get a permit; you can't just show up and have a mass gathering in Central Park. But I designed a quick invitation that she could send out to her friends. I have yet to see one on print, which I hear is much more exciting than the on-screen graphic.

You can read all about here event on her blog, Kensington Blue: Easter Egg Hunt and Picnic in Central Park {New York City.

Christmas Cards

In 2011 I had a low schedule with Christmas card designs. For our family photo, I just used the one we took for Stef & Matt's wedding, added a green bar along the bottom, and put our name in it. Easy.

The Morris family already had a lovely photo that just needed a complementary background. I already had an idea for what to do on this one, so the design went pretty fast. It is by far one of my favorites.

Heart and Faith

I designed this as inspired by a comment by Peter on one of my Pinterest posts... the quote is rumored to be authored by "teen quotes" or an unknown source as quoted on Facebook walls.

Invitation: Stef & Matt Wedding

I am so grateful for Pantone colors. Stef chose a beautiful color scheme but the colors wouldn't have worked out for the average printer (believe me, I tried it on my home printer and they were all wrong).

Very pretty, if I do say so myself. And the washi tape on the back is my favorite.

Invitation: Stef's Bridal Shower

Some of the ladies in the neighborhood threw Stef a wedding shower yesterday. To make life easier for the invitations, I took one of the designs of the invitation suite and created a bridal shower open house invitation (this is the edited version of course). So consider this a sneak peek to the entire suite that I'll post after the wedding (to prevent wedding crashers and all that). :)

Happy 30th

I made myself a birthday invitation to celebrate my birthday yesterday. Because I'm a nerd like that.

Web: Header Design

I got to design a blog header for my sister's new blog. I did lots of variations but here is one of them that is currently on her blog right now. It didn't take that long (obviously) but the simplicity is what fits Stacey's style so well. Design is fun.

Invitiation: Annie's Baby Shower

My neighbor's daughter came home for an early Christmas celebration; since she's pregnant with twins, she has to get home sooner than she'd like. But while she is here we threw her a party. And of course I designed the invitations. So much fun.

Invitation: Taftsweat Flag Football

This is my last night 30-minute whip-up project in honor of my brother. If you're in the Provo area you should come tomorrow! It will be a great game and my brother is the fastest quarterback in town.

Invitation: Early Christmas Open House

My neighbor asked me to design a Christmas party invitation for her. She and her husband have been asked to be part of a Spanish branch in the LDS Church and so she wanted to have a party with all of them, hence the Spanish invitation (her husband did the translation).

I got the Christmas tree graphic from Designioustimes.com; they have some fun freebies. I have a personal crisis with graphics created by other people because I like to be able to say that my designs are completely my own (at least the concepts usually are), but I'm slowly creeping to the dark side and saying thanks, free vectors! But don't worry, I always give credit when credit is due.

It's a Boy! (x3) Invitation

We had a cute little party tonight to celebrate the darling little boys that have come into our extended family this year. (Yes, recycled giraffes from a prior invite).

Chalyce's Wedding Invitation Suite

As promised. I took some pictures on Thursday (before I left to Oakland) while I had some great natural light; I had to clean the back door window 'cause there were lots of cute little fingerprints all over it. (And then my dog put her muddy paws on it. Sigh.)

Anyway. Colors are a variation of blue and green; both the maps are double-sided. Beautiful weekend!

Chalyce Invitation Project

Chalyce's wedding is this week and I haven't found time to photograph the invitation & cards I designed for her yet. Oh so pretty. But here's a sneak peek of the box I hauled home from Alphagraphics a few weeks ago; I'll get the actual thing photographed soon. This is the first invitation I've seen through from inception to finished printing. What a glorious feeling!

Chantelle's Bridal Shower Open House

My mom has been volunteering me to make bridal shower invitations for people in the neighborhood who are getting married. So this was one of my latest creations.
