How many of you actually care what font you're using for a document? Probably not very many. Just us editor/designer nerd-types who worry about document consistency. I've been assigned a project to help rewrite all the company product line manuals (so fun!) and we just had a meeting where we discussed how much leniency to give to secondary fonts. Should we let the product lines have secondary fonts? Dude, why give them options at all? We should allow no personality in the product line whatsoever. Granted everything has to reflect back to the corporate logo and corporate style directives, but where do we draw the line of product line secondary independence? Yada yada yada.
The debate is still ongoing, and meanwhile, I've been reading Angels and Demons on and off for the past three hours while I've been waiting for documents to come back to me so that I can edit them in time for our deadlines today. I'm so addicted to this book; I can't believe I didn't read it sooner. Miss Berrie has the Da Vinci Code; she should finish it today. If I stay on track with my book, I'll finish it today too so we can trade and I can read the Da Vinci Code by Friday night when TCBR and I are scheduled to go see the movie. I am enjoying the book immensely, mostly because I've been to Europe, so it is fun to visualize the Vatican and the ruins of Rome.
In relation to my job, I've become a pro at creating title headings, especially if the title starts with "Your Mom." It's hard to be creative if you remain serious all the time. Seriously.
