While watching the BYU/AFA football game today, I was humored by the number of commercials and game-documented text with punctuation and grammar errors. I saw the wrong form of its, an local ad supporting MADD with an extra apostrophe in the acronym (mother's against drunk driving), among other things. I also saw an ad that abused quotation marks; when calling the company, the ad said to ask for "penny". Is Penny a code name?
Oh and then Kyle called later to tell me that he saw a piece of text on TV during the Jazz game that showed fans "whose not playing tonight." Whose what? (Who's would be the correct answer.) He knew I would appreciate the misuse of the spelling. I did.
People get paid to produce grammatical errors?
