Assuming you've read George Orwell's 1984 and were remotely interested in some of its themes, you might be interested in a related book that came out last year called Little Brother. I just finished reading it for my cybertheory class, and it definitely gets you thinking about what would happen if the nation had to start defending its cyberworlds.
